Canoeing White Water River Ride !!!
“Canoeing” is the activity of paddling a canoe for the purpose of recreation, sport, or transportation –also called a float trip. It usually refers exclusively to using a paddle to propel a canoe with only human muscle power.
People who sail them are commonly known as “canoeist" or "canoer"- they are kneeling or sitting on seat or thwart, with their knees bent and their legs more or less beneath them.
White water canoeing is the perfect activity if you are looking for an challenging adventure out in the Icelandic nature. Our canoes are inflated and “selfbailing”, meaning that they do not fill with water and are easy to maneuver in the rapids. Two people sit together in the canoe and steer it, meanwhile a guide in a kayak or raft makes sure everything is safe and sound. We paddle down the Hvítá river which has a perfectly balanced mix of serene canyons and adrenaline pumping waves and rapids. We travel for 7 kilometers and at one point participants get to jump from a cliff into the river.
